This permanent visa allows a parent of a settled Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen to relocate to Australia. To apply, you must have an eligible child who is a settled Australian citizen, permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen, except if you are applying for the Retirement Pathway. You must also satisfy the balance-of-family test, unless you are pursuing the Retirement Pathway or hold a subclass 173 visa. Additionally, an Assurance of Support is required, unless you are opting for the Retirement Pathway. Furthermore, you should not have previously applied for or held a Sponsored Parent (Temporary) (subclass 870) visa when submitting your application for this visa.
